I took this over at Lake St. Clair, near Detroit Michigan.
I actually shot this with an infrared filter, but I didn't get the typical infrared look. But that's OK, since it darkened the sky, which I really like. In the original shot, the sky was a red/brown color, so I flipped the red and blue channels in Photoshop.
It was shot at ISO 200 and had some nasty noise, so I went to some trouble to get rid of that. Mostly blurring the hell out of the A and B channel in LAB mode. The I did some remove noise on the L channel. Then a copy of it all with a hard pass filter in overlay mode to sharpen it. The tree to the far right was also pretty dark, so I lightened it a tad too.
A bunch of work went into this, but I think it turned out pretty well.
