Sony Contest

Take Your Best Panoramic Shot
:iconelectricjonny:
This is an abandoned flooring store in Ypsilanti Michigan.

I originally shot this image to be made into a mini planet, but after making the mini planet, I liked the way the strait panorama looked better.

You can download this image to see the full size (2560x866 pixels), or if you want to see the full size on this deviation page, you can click the image to zoom it in, and then paste this JavaScript code into the URL bar of this page:

javascript:document.getElementById('gmi-ResViewSizer_fullimg').setAttribute('style', 'width:auto; height:auto');

Photoshop work: I used Photoshop to stitch the 108 photos together (12 shots horizontal, 9 shots vertical), then to do some cloning to fix the areas where some gaps showed. Then I made a Black & White adjustment layer on top set to the Hard Light blending mode to adjust the tone and color.

The images were all RAW files, then I saved them as TIFF's and stitched it together.

This is a totally awesome shot. At first I though it so looked like were dismembered arms and legs in the back of the picture near the "8", I did a double take :D Great shot though :)

Pure awesomeness! To bad I've quit 3ds max for a while, this would of made a perfect spherical texture for environment lightning and reflections :D

Thanks :) I don't know any 3D stuff, but I've seen those types of backgrounds before.

It's on East Michigan Ave. Here's a google map [link]
It's the building with the red siding, with some wooden windows :)

Haha yeah. I only noticed it because in back of this building there is (was) a building that was once an iron factory, or something, and I took a bunch of pictures there a couple months ago. I went back to that place to try and shoot some more, but they were tearing it down. Then I saw this building and the back door was wide open, so I thought it would be a good place to shoot :lol:
