Birthday Mover by electricjonny Birthday Mover by electricjonny
I quickly wrote this script based on a suggestion from ^vsconcepts.

It's a pretty simple script. All it does is move (or remove) the birthday notifications from your message centre.

After installing the script, it will just move the notifications down below your folders. But if you want to completely hide the notifications, you can go to Tools -> Greasemonkey -> User Script Commands -> Birthday Mover, and press that. You'll get a confirmation dialog asking if you want to move the notifications, or hide them completely. That setting will be saved so it always does what you picked. Just go back to that option if you want to change something.

To Install

You can install this script if you use Firefox and Greasemonkey.

Copy this URL to a new Firefox tab: http://electricjonny.com/code/birthday_mover.user.js

For Chrome users, you can install this version. But it will just remove the notifications, not move it down: http://electricjonny.com/code/birthday_mover_chrome.user.js

Let me know what you think :)

extensions, apps, and themes directly through the ExtensionInstallSources policy.
Steps on adding extensions from other websites
We recommend you only add extensions from other websites that you trust. In Chrome, you can follow these steps to add the extension:

Download the extension file from the website and save it to your computer.
Click the wrench icon on the browser toolbar.
Select Tools > Extensions.
Locate the extension file on your computer and drag the file onto the Extensions page.
Review the list of permissions in the dialog that appears. If you would like to proceed, click Install.

Is there a question there? :slow:

I know Chrome went all retard and made it a pain to install scripts/extensions, but it's not too hard to add them if you know what you're doing.

No question. An update on the process. Figured it could be useful to add into your artist comments. ;)

Heh, well I would, but I have so many random scripts in my gallery, and if people can't google to figure it out, then eh

I've posted about it on my more popular script/scripts, but maybe I should do it for all of them...

Do, or not do my friend. It's useful info to have, particularly if someone's new to customizing their UI/Browsing experience.

Haha well yes. I'm a big fan of customizing your browser exactly how you want to do what you want :giggle: I may just stick a short intro and a link to `electricnet's journal on how to install scripts (that he did for SuperdAmn).

Did you notice that they changed http://my.deviantart.com/messages/ to http://www.deviantart.com/messages/ ? :noes:
The script stopped working because of that. :shifty:

Heh, yeah I noticed that. That change also broke my group notifier script, although I just updated that one. I just updated this script too, so you can simply install again and it should update :)
