I had this idea a while ago when some staff member asked for widget ideas, and have sort of forgotten about it. But the recent news article
sparked the idea back to life and I thought I'd illustrate the idea.
So basically, if you install this widget, anyone who comes to your page will see the rooms you're in at that moment. People can then click on the room links to open a new tab to the chat page of that room.
You can edit the widget to not include rooms that are -join for guests (like back rooms that are private) or you can list rooms that you don't want to show up that you might be in. You can also toggle it to show how long you've been online and how long you've been idle (since an idle person is no fun to try and chat with), then you have your normal description textbox below that.
There might be other ideas for how to customize the options, but that's the gist of it right there. I think something like that would get more people to try the chat service and encourage people to use it more, along with letting people communicate better. Any other ideas or suggestions?
