Hover Helperby `electricjonny

This is a script that gives you information when you hold shift and hover over a username, avatar, or deviation.

If it's a username or avatar, you'll get the info shown on the left of this preview, with the avatar, username, tagline, then links to their gallery, journal page, and activity page. So you hold shift, then hover the username or avatar. You can't hover, then press shift. The information box will fade up, and then go away after a half second or so after unhovering it if you don't move your cursor onto the box.

You can also hold shift and hover a deviation link to get a 300 pixel wide preview. I've been wanting that for a while, since I sometimes forget the things people fav

Anyway, this will work on any deviation link, and also thumbnails (if you want a bigger preview before clicking the deviation.

The deviation previews will also work in the chats, although usernames won't. The way the site's HTML is set up makes it harder to work in the chats.

This should work in Firefox (with Greasemonkey) and Chrome, and you can get it here:

Yeah my code tends to be odd. I don't know js that well

I copy/paste things I manage to get working a lot of times. Hence the $.ajax() and not $.getJSON

But, it works, so that's my main concern.

Well, since the code isn't in the content page, you wouldn't have access to the DiFi object anyway.

Reminds me that I have a certain userscript which I practically stopped working on altogether July of this year...

Yeah I usually stick the whole js into the head of the page, so I can leach off dA's jQuery and get all it's vars. But I didn't need any of dA's js, and plopping jQuery in was simple, so I just went that route.
