This is the first photo I've shot with the CHDK firmware hack to do RAW photos that looked any good.

So with this firmware, you can make a Canon point & shoot camera, that usually only shoots JPEG images, shoot RAW images. That's pretty sweet if you ask me.

Since this was my first time shooting and playing around with RAW files, it was quite the learning experience. I think the big thing I like is how much better it can reduce noise. The noise reduction was pretty minor, but it was a lot better than Photoshop could do by default. I've always found the noise reduction in Photoshop to be pretty bad.

Anyway, this is what I came up with. Then I just applied a slight contrast curve and a black and white adjustment layer. It's been a while since I submitted any black and white work, but I thought it looked right here.

Excellent work!
I love the angle of the shot and how you decided to go with black and white. The curve of the railroad tracks and the angle of your shot almost makes you want to follow. Nice job!
