Nowadays, I shoot in full manual mode (either Program, or Shutter Speed Priority) though when I started out in digital photography, I had my PowerShot A540 on Auto mode for a while

All of the above...
Manual, mostly, but I do switch into Aperture, Program, Shutter modes often enough to say I use them too.
I rarely ever use Auto, but I have once or twice.

And I always shoot in Nikon NEF format.

Haha, I don't know about that Nikon NEF format, that's a RAW format?

But yeah, it's always good to shoot in a bunch of modes, just so you know how they all work.

NEF is essentially RAW, yes. I've been told that there are few modifications to the NEF format that makes it superior over RAW, but I don't know what they are.

I shoot in bunches of modes cause I'm always looking for that perfect shot that isolating myself to a particular mode will never give me.

Yep. Nikon calls it RAW NEF or "Nikon Electronic Format"

I like to shoot manual as much as I can.

However, during those high stress/one shot at the shot times (ie. weddings or event photography) I'll usually go with aperture.
