Site Change

I first wanted to write about some site changes, with my electricjonny.com site.  It's no longer available, since I don't have the money to get the DNS listing renewed.  So in light of that, I've repurposed my Raspberry Pi to be a server and I've coppied all of my old electricjonny.com folders and files to my Pi.  This means that any electricjonny.com domain is now a 99.82.246.199 domain.  So going to 99.82.246.199 will result in an error since I have some code to redirect that site to portfolio.electricjonny.com, which is the deviantART portfolio platform.  I just haven't done the work to use one of their domains and remove the CNAME or whatever it is on my old domain.  Well shit, I just checked, and it appears that my hosting provider (doteasy) added some code to change my main domain… Those fuckers :B Anywho, that's not important.

Anyway, what this means for anyone browsing my page or gallery submissions, is that if you ever come across a link that is electricjonny.com, you should just change the electricjonny.com part with 99.82.246.199 in order to gain access to my script or whatever.  I've started changing that domain in my submissions, but not all scripts and things are updated.  And, since I have regular old cheapo internet, my IP address could change at any random point, which means I'll have to edit things again.  I'll try to update things when that happens, but if you run into a 404 error page, just shoot me a comment and I can give you a link that works.  I would just upload my scripts to dA's servers, but since dA strips out the .user.js and just uses .js, it isn't as handy to install scripts.

Anywho, I know that this is all sort of random and geeky, and may not interest anyone, but since I had been using my old electricjonny.com domain for a lot of things, I thought I should mention this new development for anyone running into problems trying to load certain pages.  But shoot me a comment and I'll get things delivered :)

A Fast Way To Edit/Save Images?

So I've had a page saved locally on my computer that lets me paste in any image, then allows me to crop and draw on it.  I made it simply because copying an image, or using the PrtScn button on my keyboard forced me to open an image editing program in order to edit or save it.  So with this page, I simply paste an image in, and it lets me crop and draw (if I want) and then save it.  Just a handy time saver.  Anyway, I've recoded the page and I think it works much nicer now.  I also added the ability to use your webcam, in order to "take a picture" of your face, or anything else you point it at.  You can find this page over here, 99.82.246.199/html/prtscn_edit… And I want to ask people to give me feedback.  Let me know how it works, if you find any bugs, if you want more features (I know I could add things to the drawing tool), and things.  I find it works best in Firefox (my browser of choice), but I think it works in Chrome too.  I've seen a few errors when trying to paste certain images in Chrome, due to some security policies and whatnot.  But like I said, I use Firefox, and it seems to work pretty well there.  Also, this will let you paste anything into the page, and it will find the first image and then use that.  If it doesn't detect an image, it will say so and reload to let you try again.  This is a single .html file, and all the code and things required for it to use are incorporated into that file.  Meaning, you can just download that single file, and it should work.  It's not asking for remote files from any other site.  So, if people could try it out and give me some advice, I'd appreciate it :)

I've moved all of my website stuff over to Namecheap now, can highly recommend them. Good prices, good support.
